Vulcan Building - Listed Building reconstruction in Portsmouth

01 Picture2.jpg

The Vulcan building is an historic Grade 2 listed naval building set within the Gunwarf Quays development in Portsmouth. Originally constructed as an armaments store, the building had the north wing demolished during a World War 2 bombing raid. The scope of work included an interior reconfiguration of the entire building with residential units on the top floor, offices on the first floor and with ground floor retail spaces.

The listed building permission was achieved using innovative fire engineering solutions to address the variety of uses and a complete and faithful reconstruction of the North Wing and the construction of a new clock tower to match the original.
